Allergies have become a significant problem in recent decades. More and more people are affected by them. They often suffer considerably from this overreaction of the immune system, which is responsible for their allergy to basically harmless substances in the environment.
Allergies can be triggered by contact with certain metals, inhalation of plant pollen, medication, food or even insect poisons, and many more. In addition to complaints such as inflamed eyes, shortness of breath, and skin rash, in the worst case, they can even trigger a life-threatening anaphylactic shock.
An IgE antibody test helps in diagnosis and treatment
In order to successfully treat an allergy, it is first necessary to determine the responsible allergens. Depending on the type of allergy, these can then be avoided, or other treatment measures, such as hyposensitization, can be taken.
A comprehensive IgE analysis, as offered by our Allergy Sensor, helps to determine the personal sensitization profile and, at the same time, to identify possible cross-reactions.
How the Allergy Sensor works
For our Allergy Sensor, we carry out a comprehensive analysis of the sample sent in. Within this framework, an IgE antibody test is performed for more than 100 different allergens. These include grass pollen, dogs, and cats as well as foods such as milk or wheat.
Since we only test one blood sample for the Allergy Sensor, and the test person has no direct contact with potential allergens, the test is entirely risk-free.
After a successful analysis, we summarize the results in a detailed written report. In this report, we explain in detail which substances can trigger allergic reactions.
